Description

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) System

The Labman BOD analyser provides a highly scalable‚ low maintenance and cost effective solution for measuring the Biological Oxygen Demand for potable‚ trade effluent and waste water samples.
The BOD systems range in size from 20 sample bed capacity to a maximum of 200 samples on the bed and they can be bench mounted or free standing. The throughput is approximately 60 - 90 seconds for a BOD ON measurement (this includes automatic dilution‚ allylthiourea addition‚ capping and decapping of the bottle and the DO measurement) 30 - 45 seconds for a BOD (this includes capping and decapping of the bottle and the DO measurement).
The systems are modularly designed with the following items available as options.
  • High quality HP desktop computer and 19" TFT monitor
  • ATU (allylthiourea) addition
  • Automatic capping and decapping of the BOD bottles
  • Handheld wireless barcode scanner
  • Laboratory compressor
The BOD robots we manufacture are supplied with high quality WTW Inolab 730 Oxygen meters and StirrOx DO probes (more information can be found at www.wtw.com). The software is written using modern development tools and is compatible with Windows 2000 and higher (Windows Vista compatibility is not available just yet). The software aides the operator in scheduling BOD samples and provides full sample traceability when coupled with the handheld barcode reader option. Printed reports can be generated from the software and dilution values are automatically calculated. Further information can be found in our brochure.
